Tuesday 15th April
Today has been a relaxing day for the most part. We started
off the day by heading into Biarritz to get a document signed – that is a whole
story in itself. More than an hour later and document done we headed north out of town
for our quiet beach resort further up the coast. It seemed to take quite a
while to get off the main road and away from the traffic but once that was done
the driving was quite relaxed.
We stopped at a small beachside resort on the way for lunch
and found they had a market there. We traipsed up and down the market, tasting
the produce on offer. We did the French thing and bought cheese and sausage for
lunch, and a baguette at the bakery. Looked for a beachside picnic ground there
but it looked like you had to park the car and hike over the dunes so we just
settled for a local park for our picnic. It has been a beautiful sunny day and it
would have been quite easy to lay back and have a nap in the sun.

Our hotel is in a place called Biscarosse Plage. It has an Apollo Bay feel to it. We are a
couple of streets back from the beach and a couple of blocks from the main
street.

We had dinner in town tonight – prawns for me and paella for Rob, then
an Italian ice cream as we wandered back home. We are here another night and
tomorrow will just go for a drive around the area. We are not far from Bordeaux
so may include a couple of wineries on our travels tomorrow.
Beautiful blue sky, looks like the weather is finally coming good. Enjoy Bordeaux.
