Changi and a River Cruise

Monday 16th May

We had to check out of our hotel room today and fill in the time till our 11pm flight to Frankfurt and Paris. We headed to the Changi Museum which was 1 hour bus ride away from the city. An interesting and very sad history for the people of Singapore.

Back to the city and tried one of the recommended eating places for lunch which had Nasi Padang – which is an assortment of Indonesian style dishes. It was a lovely meal – much better than the previous days meal in Chinatown. Then followed a cruise on the river to get a different view of Singapore and a really good view of the Marina Bay Sands hotel.
Again around 5pm the skies clouded over and we had thunderstorms – they didn’t last terribly long but it did make for a wait for a taxi to the airport.

Along the riverbank - a sculpture of children doing what they love.

How would this be for a job? Long way up. You'd have a job for life - by the time you finished all the windows it would be time to start again.

Our flight to Frankfurt was uneventful, but long. I just can’t sleep on the planes. Sadly we did not get the upper deck economy seats on the A380 so were down in the crowded economy class on a full flight.
