First stop - Kuala Lumpur

Sorry, no photos as yet. Really just to let you know we have arrived at our first stop. We are both finding it hard to believe that this is just the beginning of a 3 month holiday - it will probably only be real when we pick up the car in Paris and get moving.

No real dramas but for a moment there yesterday I thought we might have to spend our first day in Kuala Lumpur at Low Fat Plaza (actually Low Yat Plaza) which is the technology shopping centre here in KL. The virus scanner appeared to have stopped working and I had to download a new version at the airport. Fortunately when I re-started the computer this morning this seems to have resolved the issue. All good!

We joked about taking our old clothes and leaving them behind as we travel - I hadn't planned on that happening quite so soon though. One t-shirt in the rubbish here already.

And so far the only thing I have thought of that we forgot to pack is the tube of vegemite. We don't eat it that often at home but for some reason you seem to get a craving for it when you are away.

The hotel here is quite OK and is in the middle of the main street. Reports on trip advisor said it would be noisy on the lower floors but we didn't find it the case and we are on the first floor. We both slept really well. Up at our usual time this morning and looking out the window we could see that the 'girls' were up (or maybe not yet down) and working the street. It is nearly 10am here and we will head out for a wander shortly - got to do something to let breakfast go down and leave some space for the next meal.
