Home is not that far away.

Wednesday 20th June

Today started out with us meeting another Australian couple at breakfast . They are from Cairns and her brother lives in Yorkeys Knob where my mother and sister live. Small world! They had nothing planned for their day so we were able suggest that they do the cable car from Stresa.

Our planned day was a lake cruise from Arona, north to Stresa then Baveno, lunch, then back to Arona. We were able to give Kevin and Glenda a lift to Arona where they also caught the boat to Stresa for the cable car. It was a beautiful day on the lake and some great sights along the lakeside. A beautiful part of Italy.

One of the islands in Lago Maggiore - Isola Superiore.

Beautiful Italian villa.

This fort sits above the town of Arona.

The umbrella shop.

It's a hard life.

One of the beautiful hotels in the town of Stresa.

A few more italian villas.

Cloisters in the town of Baveno where we had lunch.

Church in Baveno.

Doing it the hard way.

Tomorrow we move on to Lake Como. I hope George has baked a cake for morning tea to have with our Nespresso.

  1. It is a small world despite the distance.... which of those beautiful villas are buying for the summer? Love the bright umbrellas.

  2. I think I could cope with living in one of those villas. As long as it came with a few servants to do the housework.
