Picture this...

Friday 29th July

These are some photos that I meant to upload the last time I posted, but the wifi has been too flaky at the last few places so I left these for next time.

These photos were taken at sunset at the salt pans near Nata in Botswana. The sunsets have just been beautiful.

These were the only two dogs at the painted dog conservation centre. The male dog has been there 14 years as he came in with a broken hip and now has a limp and is slow running. They can't release him as he would soon be someone's dinner.

A male impala. We have spotted these everywhere in our travels. As our guide has said - the impala are doing very well. Interestingly they are not usually prey for the lions as they are not big enough to feed the pride.

We spotted this construction near a waterhole. Room with a view. Not too sure of the plumbing.

A panoramic view of our first accommodation (not sure that you will get good detail of this photo) - Elephant Eye. It had a swimming pool though I don't think anyone took advantage of it. The water is actually quite cold as it is winter here. Temperatures have usually been quite pleasant though it heats up in the afternoon.

The pathway to our chalet at Elephant Eye.

The zebra at the waterhole outside our chalet.

Quite a few of the elephants enjoyed a drink from our swimming pool.

And not long after the zebra - the elephant herd came for a drink and play.

Our tour group at the salt pans.
