The New Year - and more planning

No photos to post yet; just an update on the planning.

Christmas and New Year have come and gone and we had a relaxing time at home. And now we are right into 2014 and only 9 weeks until we head off. It is all of a sudden looming very large on the horizon.

We have booked our hotel in Kuala Lumpur - backs on to Jalan Alor which is the street with all the hawker food stalls. We were in KL in October 2013 and did all the sights, so we don't need to do any of those again and can just rest - and enjoy the food! I could eat all my meals in this one street - no need for any fancy, upmarket restaurants (unless it is for dessert).

Today I have spent the full day searching tours in and around Paris, and deciding on what has to be on the list. It is very time consuming and you spend the day going round in circles, but I think we have decided on the 'hit list'. Now we will just have to hope that the weather cooperates when we are there and we don't find ourselves house bound.

So far I am not having any luck with tickets for the Eiffel Tower when we are there so we may have to sign up with a tour group to get them. I'll assign another day of internet browsing with just the Eiffel Tower in mind and see if I have any joy then.

Monet's Garden is not open the week we are in Paris, but we will be looping back around that side of France once we have been to Spain and will pick up this attraction then.

That's the update for now.
